Conclusion

The journey has finally come to an end.

Throughout these 13 weeks, we have come to the conclusion that Biomimicry is a very interesting subject and that nature has a lot to teach us. We just have to learn how to be highly observant to be able to pick up on the things nature has to offer.

Hedgehogs are very unique creatures that we had the pleasure of observing. It is very cute to look at and play with, but also has characteristics that are able to solve human problems. The spines of the hedgehog are excellent shock absorbers. This is where the idea of improving the current helmet in the market came from. If the spines could be a layer in the helmet, it would greatly improve the safety of motorcyclists during an accident and hence can reduce the number of fatalities caused by accidents.

In the future, it is recommended that not only the hedgehog be studied but also the members of that family and species. Maybe an improvement can be made from the design idea that we have managed to come up with.
